BW Energy Achieves First Oil Production From Its Third Hibiscus/Ruche Well Offshore Gabon

July 2023: BW Energy achieved first oil production from its third Hibiscus/Ruche well in the Dussafu Licence offshore Gabon in July 2023. The well came online at 6000 barrels per day.

Tullow Oil Achieves First Oil Production From the Jubilee South East Extension Offshore Ghana

July 2023: Tullow Oil and its partners (Kosmos Energy, Ghana National Petroleum
Corporation, Petro SA and Jubilee Oil Holdings) achieved first oil production from the Jubilee South East (JSE) Project Offshore Ghana in July 2023. An investment of over 1 billion USD, 3 new oil producers, and 1 new water injector are expected to keep the Jubilee oil field rate above 100 000 barrels per day.

Perenco Bids for Controlling Equity in Block CI-11 Offshore Cote d’Ivoire

November 2020: Anglo-French oil firm Perenco is seeking to buy a controlling stake in Block CI-11 offshore Cote d’Ivoire, currently operated by a consortium that includes the state-run company Petroci, which has a 68% stake. Under the deal, Perenco will operate Block CI-11, which includes the Lion oil field and Panthere gas field, and hold about 51% equity.

Ghana Orders the Unitisation of the Sankofa and Afina Oil Discoveries

November 2020: The government of Ghana has ordered Eni to merge its Sankofa oil discovery with the neighbouring Afina oil discovery made by Springfield Exploration and Production Ltd. The unitisation process will allow for a more efficient development using shared infrastructure. Eni will be the operator of the unitised area. Afina is believed to hold 1.5 billion barrels of oil in place. Sankofa is projected to hold recoverable reserves of about 500 million barrels of oil and 40 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

First E&P Achieves First Oil Production from the OML-83 and 85 Fields Offshore Nigeria

October 2020: FIRST Exploration and Petroleum Development Company (“FIRST E&P”) achieved first oil production from the Anyala West field in Oil Mining Leases (OMLs) 83 & 85 offshore Nigeria. The Anyala and Madu development is expected to recover 142 million stock tank barrels (MMSTB) of oil and 98 billion standard cubic feet (BSCF) of gas.

Zenith Energy Acquires Sidi El Kilani Oil Field Tunisia From CNPC

September 2020: China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) has agreed to sell its equity in the Sidi El Kilani Concession to Zenith Energy for 300 000 USD. The sale includes the 22.5% equity in the North Kairouan permit which contains the Sidi El Kilani oil field and 25% shareholding in the field operator, Compagnie Tuniso-Koweito-Chinoise de Pétrole (CTKCP).
