PetroNor Acquires Nigeria OML-113 Aje Oil Field Equity from Panoro Energy

October 2019: Panoro Energy has sold its 6.502% interest in OML-113 Aje oil field (offshore Nigeria) to PetroNor for 10 MMUSD plus add-ons.  The field achieved first oil production in 2016, and is currently developed with two subsea oil production wells tied back to a FPSO vessel.

Ophir Energy Cancels Equatorial Guinea Fortuna FLNG Project

January 2019: Ophir Energy cancelled its Fortuna floating LNG project in Equatorial Guinea after failing to secure investment funding and losing the offshore block R licence after it expired.  The London-based company said the loss would impair its full year results by 300 MMUSD.

Nigeria OML-120 Oyo Oil Field Owner Erin Energy Files for Bankruptcy

July 2018: Erin Energy has filed for bankruptcy and gone into liquidation.  The Houston based oil company has equity in the producing OML-120 Oyo oil field (offshore Nigeria), and oil exploration licences in Ghana, Kenya, and The Gambia.

BW Offshore Completes First Oil Production Well at Tortue Oil Field Offshore Gabon

April 2017: BW Offshore has completed the first development well (DTM-2H) in the Tortue field in the Dussafu license offshore Gabon.  The well was spudded with the Borr Norve jack-up drilling rig in January 2018, and drilled on schedule and within budget.  The Tortue oil field is owned by BW Offshore (91.67%) and Panoro Energy (8.33 percent).

Addax Extends FPSO Vessel Lease for Nigeria Okwori Oil Field to 2021

October 2017: Addax Petroleum has agreed a four-year fixed term contract extension to lease the Sendje Berge FPSO vessel from BW Offshore Limited.  The FPSO vessel has been operating on Addax’s OML-126 Okwori oil field (offshore Nigeria) since 2005, and its lease will now expire in 2021.

Sound Energy Spuds Third Tendrara Well in Morocco

Feb-2017: Sound Energy has commenced drilling, and spudded its third well in the Tendrara field (onshore Morocco). The TE-8 well will be a step out appraisal well 7.5 miles (12 km) northeast of the TE-7 well, and will be used to evaluate additional volumes in the TAGI reservoir and appraise the deeper Paleozoic formation. TE-8 will be drilled to a depth of 9760 feet (2975 m) and drilling will take 40 to 50 days. If gas is found in the main well, a further 30 day side-track will be drilled to about 0.6 miles (900 m) north-west to seek to prove a potentially deeper gas water contact depth.
