Oil Well Water Shut Off Work-over

- Project was completed for an offshore oil field with Triassic sandstone reservoirs.
- Evaluated work-over and infill drilling opportunities for a reservoir with a single production well.
- Evaluated water source in a production well with 90% water cut, estimated remaining reserves, and concluded that minimal value was left in the completed reservoir zone.
- Developed a proposal to isolate the existing zone’s water production, and add perforations in a shallow reservoir zone.
- Constructed a Mbal reservoir history match model, and matched RFT pressures, static BHP pressures and production rates.
- Constructed Prosper well and Gap pipeline models to evaluate the impact of work-over intervention volumes on existing production in commingled pipeline.
- Generated well-bore and incremental profiles from Gap models.
- Used PEEP to complete economic assessment and estimated NPV, P/I, DCFR and payback period.
- Presented to management, and passed gate reviews.
- Secured final investment approval to spend 24 MMUSD capital cost, and added 38 MMUSD NPV.
- Work-over project delivered 6000 stb/d oil production and isolated 8000 stb/d water production.
